Hi guys! From The Pretty House of Y, I am doing a guest post for the lovely Elpitha! :)
IN A NUTSHELL: Hairs are not made out of living cells, so, contrary to popular belief, they can’t actively absorb anything. But providing moisture to the hair shaft can make it more beautiful to the eye, softer to the touch & easier to handle! Not only that, but the moisture reduces friction, and that reduces breakage!
CONCLUSION: Pamper yourself & slap some love on your locks :)
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeep Conditioner: Ok, this is just famous; there isn’t much to say about it. It really is very good! It may not be the absolute best out there, but it is very very well priced (I got it for about $5 at CVS), and for my Greeks out there, Hondos Center is going to start carrying Aussie soon!!! Yay!
Apivita Nourishing and Repairing Mask for Dry-Dehydrated Hair with Almond & Honey: You can find this in most pharmacies in Greece, even though I’ve never seen it in the US. It smells lovely & it only costs 14-15 euros for the whole tube. I believe it also comes in single use sachets. I really enjoy this one, and definitely recommend it, especially for those who prefer products with natural ingredients!
Dove Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Deep Repairing Mask: When I got this hair mask, I expected it to smell good, just like all Dove products, & to be nice and creamy, but I didn’t have really high expectations apart from that. I did not expect to get such smooth silky hair afterwards! This is just as good as some of the most expensive hair salons hair masks out there. I will buy it again & again! (Btw, in Europe I think the jar is a different shape & dark blue in color).
Les Karites Hair Treatment Cream with Shea Butter: This was the first hair mask I fell in love with, and I have used it for years and years. Unfortunately, it’s not very easy to find. Whenever I spot it at Hondos Center in Greece, I grab the biggest jar there is! I don’t remember the exact price but it’s one of the cheaper ones out there. If you spot it, grab it!
So, what to stay away from???
I have to be honest, I don’t like to say bad things about products, because results may vary from person to person. But I’d like to say that so far I have never had good luck with Lorvenn or with Schwarzkopf products. My hair does not feel different afterwards so… What can I say? That was my experience.
Also, for more expensive brans that I have tried, like Kerastase. They usually are lovely, but when it comes to hair masks, I think it’s best to pay a little less, get a product that is just as good, and use it more often! Because like I said, it’s not like the hair absorbs the product. You have to keep applying again & again to maintain the results! Also, it’s not a styling product, it’s something you wash off!
Anyway, I hope this was helpful for you guys! If you have any other suggestions, please tell!!! J
There you go guys , let me and Y know your favorite hair mask and wether you have tried any of these ...
