How to Deal with Mosquitoes Pre-Bite

One thing I have hated my whole life was not the fact that summer consisted of me getting bit by mosquitoes but it made me look like I had spots and wounds all over my body. They usually attack my legs which is never good, who wants to have blemished looking legs during summer when you tend to have your legs out? Not me. I have searched high and low for the best solutions for combating mosquitoes and I am happy to say its not the usual crap you read. This is what works for me.

Spray on Lotion
There are quite a few you can buy but I tend to buy one from an online pharmacy usually the one Apivita has as you can see in the image. Its the only one that smells normal and actually moisturizes your skin whilst you are wearing it. Now, I don't like the idea of having a shower with some lovely shower gel just to come out smelling like mosquito lotion - this is what I do. I carry it with me everywhere and if I am at the house I place it on my table on my balcony for guests to use. Once I feel there is a ''bite'' in the air, I start applying the lotion and I am usually fine. Don't smother yourself in a product that wont come in handy until 5 hours later. These products work because of their scent, if you apply it now, you will probably need to re-apply it in the next 30 minutes or so. Only place it on your skin when you feel like you are about to get attacked.

Herbs and Herbs
I love herbs and I love anything that is going to combat mosquitoes naturally without one of those chemical plug things. You need to find the places in your house they are coming in from and make it their worst nightmare. For example, the bedroom - make sure on your balcony you place herbs that smell. Mosquitoes and insects in general hate anything that smells a lot so what I do is I add lavender (a personal favourite of mine) on the balcony table and it helps create a discreet smell to us but a strong smell to them that they detest and refuse to even com to your balcony. If you don't have a balcony then add small herbs in pots near your windows.

Shower Gel
Try switching to tea tree oil based shower gels that are excellent for your skin and health but also have a strong smell that mosquitoes wont like on your skin. Tea tree also helps conceal the smell of sweat which is great for hot weather. There are many benefits that work around tea tree which is why I use it. If you don't want to use tea tree then opt for another herb in the form of a shower gel.
